Happy 2024 Harvest!
We wrapped up harvest 2024 and wanted to share all about it!
So, “How did harvest go this year?”
At Pressley Vineyards, we get this question annually, this was our 8th harvest for Pressley Vineyards, we can hardly believe that we are already eight years into this passion project and the pride and satisfaction that comes with completing another season never gets old. However harvest this year definitely brought its challenges, the grape market is over saturated, with too much wine in production. About 95% of our grapes go to other wineries and getting all of our grapes sold was a challenge. We ended up getting about 85% of our fruit sold. The rest will be harvested off the vine and we will bring the sheep in to graze the leftovers grapes.
The Timing
Harvest arrived relatively on time this year We harvested Pinot Noir for sparkling first. Followed by our Albarino, and wrapped up with our Pinot Noir the last week of August. We finished off harvest an entire month earlier that we did last year! The earlier harvest was mostly due to the hot summer, the fruit quality was exceptional and we can hardly wait to see the wine these grapes produce!
