Right now, our vines are fully dormant. This rest isn’t just natural—it’s essential. After a long growing season, winter gives the vines a chance to pause, reset, and gather strength for spring. Winter rains play a vital role as well, slowly refilling the water table and nourishing the soil. While the vineyard may appear still above ground, there’s a lot happening below the surface. Roots are replenishing, and vines are quietly storing energy that will fuel new growth when warmer days return. This season reminds us why stewardship matters so deeply. By letting nature do its work and respecting the vineyard’s natural rhythms, we’re setting the stage for a healthy, balanced growing season ahead.

This time of year is dedicated to creating a clear, thoughtful plan for our 2026 farming goals, with a focus on vineyard health, balance, and sustainability. It’s when we evaluate what worked, what we can improve, and how to continue caring for our land in a way that supports both quality wine and long-term vitality. We’re also attending industry events—staying connected, learning from peers, sharing ideas, and refining our approach. Continual growth is part of the journey, both as winemakers and as farmers, and winter offers the space to step back and look ahead with intention.
